So after an odd series of events that I can’t quite explain, I’m now going to be a server instead of a cook at my job. I think my boss basically hired someone else to do my job and I was placed in a server position instead. Looking back, I do vaguely remember him saying that he may do that at some point, but my Japanese isn’t 100% so I think I didn’t understand it at that time. Fuck I’m so awkward in front of people. Hopefully I don’t blow it.

This coming semester I’m taking 16 units (not the 18 that I originally thought). Tea Ceremony and Tea Culture, Modern Japanese Lit, Reading and Analysis of Cultural Texts (for GWAR), Japanese American Art and Lit (for Segment 3), and Geology Lecture/Lab. I basically have class everyday so any SFSU people hit me up and we can chill. I’m starting to scan the backlog of snapshots I have. Here’s one roll down.

Wow it’s been awhile since I last updated. Time is going by super super fast. I just have to take a couple summer courses and then I can graduate at the end of the Fall semester… One semester earlier than normal! Pretty excited for to get out of school and apply for JET. I still don’t really have a set plan for the future and that kinda scares me sometimes.. It’s easy for me to say fuck it, but if I don’t take things carefully life is gonna fuck me.

During class I started to realize just how much I depend on some of my classmates for help on things and how incapable I have been during my entire time in college. Whether it’s depending on people for help on homework or asking stuff I should know about normal college stuff (selecting classes, when things are due, etc etc).. I always believed in being independent and only relying on yourself since at the end of the day you’re the only one you can rely on. I think I need to re evaluate some things and become a more capable person because once I graduate I can’t exactly expect people to be able to help me through everything. I guess no matter how mature I think I am, I do still need to grow up.

Hello 2013.

Well guys we made it to 2013! Take that you fucking Mayans and your crafty fucking calendars! No, I’m just kidding haha but anyways I’m super grateful for all the things I’ve been able to do and for all the friends who have been super cool with me even though I can be super lame 99% of the time. I’m trying to be more outgoing this time around!

Anyways, here’s some film that I shot with Sean at the beach and a couple frames from around Golden Gate Park. Sean was kind enough to drop off a bunch of film to a lab near his place so I have some stuff to post now!

I posted some shots from the same day before on the blog but it was shots taken on my iPhone. I ran out of film fairly quickly so the previous shots are a little better imo, but I thought I would share these anyways

The End.

Well tomorrow is my last final and then Winter Semester is officially over for me. It couldn’t have ended sooner.. This semester has been such a drag. Now I have more time to take pictures and stuff haha. Today I went and shot through a roll downtown. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to dedicate all my time to shooting.

So supposedly the world is gonna end on Dec 21st.. If you believe that then you’re a fucking retard. Sorry I don’t know any other way to put it. The world was supposed to end numerous times already and people are still so paranoid and brainwashed by what they read online that they can no longer think for themselves and have become a slave to the Internet. It’s sad.

Anyways, here’s a roll I shot through the Kiev on my last walk around with Sean. HP5/HC-110.

The Light.

Today I had Oceanography like usual. I ended up getting a C on my 2nd midterm, but because A LOT of people in my class failed, there is a make up opportunity to let us earn up to 15% more on our tests. Feeling good 🙂

After that, I bussed it to Sean’s place so we could do some shooting. We ended up swinging by the beach for a change of pace to shoot the Sunset. Yes, it’s not random snapshots of strangers for a change haha. The light was friggin awesome. We couldn’t have gotten there at a better time. I shot a whole roll of cheap 400 film in my T4. I mostly wanted to play with the shadows and the reflections of color on the wet sand. I think the shots came out great although I have no clue when I will have them developed. Expect them sometime next year? 🙂

After that, we headed to get some burgers to take back to Sean’s place. I forgot the name of the place we went to, but the shit was bomb. The burger filled me up pretty good which is rare. I normally need to eat fries and some other stuff to feel real full. We watched Battle Royale while eating. For all my non Japanese friends out there, it’s Hunger Games on crack. Check it out or even read the manga if you have the chance since it’s even more gruesome. :3

Now I’m back at home. Gotta study for Kanji 😦

Here’s some iPhone snaps from the beach. The camera on the 4/4S/5 is amazing. I mean, I have the older 4 and look at the images it outputs with only minor editing (only exposure and color correction). Of course the dynamic range is totally lacking when compared to ANY modern DSLR, but hey it’s excellent for a cell phone camera. The best part is, you can do the exact same edits as I have here on your iPhone on the go. It just looks great in my opinion. “The best camera is the one that’s with you.”

Hey everyone! Yesterday I went over to Pacifica to celebrate my Auntie’s birthday and to have a “baby shower” for my other Auntie as she just got another doggie. I brought my Nikkormat FTN and walked along the beach to get some shots. I haven’t been shooting at all. So much school and work has kept me busy. I’m going to try to get up early on weekends and go out and shoot though.

I just picked up  a Kodak Retina IIa camera today also. It’s a pretty cool folder camera I’m going to try and bring it with me everywhere I go (along with my Olympus Infinity Stylus). I also have a Polaroid Land 104 in the mail, too so now I can start doing some instant photography. Yeah so look forward to some of that in the future.

Thanks for coming everyone!
